Keeping pets such as dog, bring more smiles to pets owners.
I have not updated this blog for some time. I do not know what to write. I decided to go Helium to look for some topics. I found two which interest me. I started to write on this first:

Keeping pets help to cultivate your patience, and it helps to lessen stress.
Rewards of Owning a Pet
Owning a pet requires a lot of care and patience. It takes a responsible owner to look after his pets well. The rewards of owning a pet can be divided into a few categories.
Firstly in terms of character building, people who have pets, as mentioned earlier, need to spend time to look after their pet — feeding, bathing, washing up the pet’s homes, cleaning up the mess that the pet might have caused. For people who do not like their pets, they may give up their pets after sometime because of all these hard work or chores to them. However, for people who really love their pets, they are willing to take up these responsibilities to care for their beloved pets. For these, the children, will learn to be responsible, love and care for animals and discipline (able to feed, bath, groom their pets routinely). For first-time pets owners, such as adults or old folks, the same things can be learned from pets, although these people already know what is being responsible and how to care for their pets. Something extra that adults or old folks can gain from looking after pets is the cultivation of patience. It takes patience to groom the pets, such as dog. It takes patience to bath the pets well, and it takes patience too to handle a hamster as well as other pets.
The above lead to the next advantage of owning a pet. The fact that you are willing to sacrifice your time and money on your pet show that you love your pet. Any pet lover will rejoice and enjoy the company of their pets. Thus the next rewards that many pets owners get is happiness. Most pets owners are friendly and have more smile on their face. This is because keeping pets are known to reduce stress in people’s life. Old people who keep pets have a longer life span than those who do not own a pet. The companion of pets help the pet owner not to feel ‘lonely’.

Talking about Pets is a good way to start conversation with strangers and making friends.
As mention above, pets help to keep young children and old people’s company (especially when in the day time all the people in the house is working, young children and old people can divert their attention on the pets). This greatly aid in the health of these people. Boredom and feeling lonely can lead to many illnesses in people indirectly as they are not happy. Pets can help these people — children, old people, or even depressed people to feel better. For people who are depressed, their condition will get better if they are known to keep a pet such as cat or dog.

Children feel happy and more cheerful with pets. Children learn how to care and love for their pets. Cultivation of discipline, responsibilities and organizational skills can be taught to them through handling pets. Exercising with pets also help to improve the health of pet owners.
The next reward of owning a pet is that most of the time owning a pet need you to do extra kind of ‘work’ such as bringing your pet such as dog to the vet, to the garden for a walk, etc. These activities will indirectly ‘force’ the owners to ‘do exercise’. In such activities, owners often meet other people around them. Often when pet owners meet other pet owners, they have so much information and queries to ask each other. They want to share their experiences. Thus in so doing, they easily make friends, and in so doing, they feel happier, cheerful and a higher self-esteem when you know that there are friends who are kind to you and your pets.
The last rewards of owning a pet could be applicable to the disable people. For blind people, a dog helps in guiding them around. Even for wheel-chair bound people, keeping pets such as birds, fish, can cultivate a sense of worth and self-esteem for them. Like normal people, pets help to make these pet owners happier and healthier too. For disable people, it was known that some pets such as dogs, are able to help their wheel-chair bound to pick up things that are dropped to them. These are dogs that are useful to man to do work for them.
Lastly, one more point to add about keeping dog as pet, the reward is loyalty. No matter how you treat the dog, the dog will always regard you their trusted friend. Other pets such as chickens, fish which I have experienced, are known to have similar traits. They recognize you. They are eager to look forward to the owner everyday for food (especially the fish). For chickens, they can actually understand our language after some time. The most loyal one would be the dog. And they give us warmth, companion and a ’shoulder’ to cry on during stressful times and sad moments. When you shed your tears, the dog will be the first ‘creature’ to come to you, lick you spontaneously — you will know their language.
The rewards of owning a pet is far more than the disadvantage of owning a pet. Whether your pet is fish, bird, cat, dog, rabbit, ferret, or even pig, the rewards are your health, both physically and mentally.

Pets are natural remedy for depressed people.
