Curtains Or Blinds

Curtains and Blinds are useful in correcting architectural flaws for the windows. I love my home and I am the housekeeper for the family. Windows beauty is important just like any other part of the house.

There are various ways to decorate the windows — there are various types of windows grill, windows panel, curtains, blinds and shades. In most cases before we settled and move into the house, the types of window grills and windows panel would have decided upon. These are then fixed permanently to the house. And so there is little that we can do about window beauty after moving in the house. Dressing up the window every now and then is part of maintaining the cleanliness of the house.

Nowadays windows ‘clothings’ come in various types — blinds, shades and curtains. Each of these clothings for the windows have their own beauty. I like vertical blinds. I have vertical blinds in one of my room. In the other rooms, I have curtains. I personally prefer curtains to blinds. Curtains are easy to maintain. I just need to take out the curtains from the curtain rods and put them in the washing machine to wash them — that is easy. On the other hand, blinds are difficult to maintain. After a period of time, dust begin to trap on the blinds. Cleaning blinds is very tedious for me. I need to wear gloves and I need to wipe the slats using my hands.

Though curtains and blinds have their own uses and beauty, I prefer curtains. Besides being easier to clean (as mentioned earlier, I just need to put it in washing machine), I can custom made many other patterns and designs of curtains according to the types of fabrics I like. I can add in day curtain as well.

As a housekeeper, I have many tasks to do. I need to spend time with my children, I need to spend time for myself, I need time for housework and time for leisure. As such, I need to finish my tasks efficiently and within the shortest time as possible. Having blinds can look elegant but long term wise, as dust begin to collect, it is difficult to maintain and clean up. I would rather choose curtains than blinds.
