Mother’s Day Gifts
By peace | May 6, 2007

My mother never seems to have enough rest. She is forever busy for all the time that I know her. She is a great mother who does all that she can for her children.
It’s a week until Mother’s Day. Last year I gave my mother a bouquet of dried roses. This year, I never give her any Mothers Day roses. Instead I buy her more practical stuff. I bought her fruits and food which she likes to eat. I buy her a crystal ball of Mother Mary filled with glitters. I hope that Mother Mary will bless my mother everyday. I also gave her a red packet.
When I was younger, a child, I used to buy purse or flowers to give to my mother during mother’s day. There was a time when my brothers, my sister and I shared to buy a golden necklance for her on Mother’s Day. When I started working, I bought her handbags, brooches, lipsticks, perfumes, and again flowers. My brothers will bring her out for dinner.
Nowadays for many years, my brothers never bring my father or mother out for dinner. Everyday my mother need to wake up early in the morning, sometimes as early as 4am to cook breakfast, and then to go to work. She has to work until as late as 8-9pm at times. She never seems to enjoy her life before. I feel sad for her.
When the children is small, she needs to care for her children. Now that the children is older, she still cannot enjoy goodlife. Her children cannot provide for her. She has to depend on herself despite bringing all the children up. I really hope I can do more for her. That is how important money is.
I just want to let everybody know that all mothers love their children. I am a mother myself. I never used to understand all that my mother went through. I never used to understand why she did all the things she did, said all the things she said etc until I became a mother myself. All mothers will want their children to be happy and even when their children are adults already like what I am now, my mother still treat me like a ‘kid’. We are forever our mother’s kids. So we as children must be filial to our mother. They suffer a lot of hardship to bring us up and to provide for us. Show her a little appreciation on this special day, Mother’s Day.
What is the best gifts to give your mother on Mother’s Day? As a mother myself, I would want my children to be obedient and do well in their studies. This is the greatest gifts they can give. This is what my mum used to tell me too. And this is how I feel now about my children too. I do not wish for great gifts. I do not wish my children to buy anything. It is the thoughts that count. However, no mother would not love to see flowers. Flowers brightens a person and bring smile to the face. Send your mother roses this Mother’s Day.
