Dog Adoption?

This is HeiDou (??), a miniature schnauzer, about 2-3 years old. She was wondering around Casablanca Condominium one day when my niece saw her. She brought her home and she became her new pet since that day.
HeiDou is very obedient and adorable. She does not bark aggressively nor excessively at strangers at all. The first time I saw her was when my niece brought her to my house. She never barked at anyone at all. On the contrary, she was so friendly. She was a very well-behaved dog. Her previous owner must have good discipline on her. About two to three weeks ago, my niece wanted to give HeiDou to me, since I love dogs and HeiDou. My children love to adopt HeiDou too. However there was one thing which hinder us from adopting HeiDou. HeiDou is a girl. We were scared about her menses. According to my niece, whenever HeiDous menses comes she would let her wear disposable underwear like those diapers which babies wear. I had never had any female dogs before. I am scared of the blood actually. On second thoughts, I decide not to adopt her. I do not know why, ever since Cebest died, I had no wish to have another pet. It seems to me that my heart can only accomodate Cebest. No other dog can replace him. I still like dogs, especially Schnauzer, because seeing Schnauzer reminds me of Cebest, and they resemble Cebest. However, I know they are not Cebest. So if you ask me to adopt another pet dog, I would say no for the time being. Whether I would change my mind in the future, I do not know.
