Cebest’s Death Video
By peace | August 8, 2007
My Dog, Cebest, Rest In Peace
I have finally enough courage to put up my beloved pet, my dog, Cebest’s last pieces of photographs. His death photographs and it was the most photographs I had ever taken of him on that date.
I had regretted not taking more photographs of him when he was young. My Canon camera was not working well then. The average life span of a dog is about 10-15 years old. I would thought that he would follow us and with the children till their teens and even older. However, everything was the least expected and the most unexpected happened.
It was just a routine yearly vaccination. He was so happy. He spin around, dashing here and there, was filled with excitement and joy. He saw me taking out his belongings for outings — the shoes, his shirt and the leash. He came towards me, allowed me to put on everything on him.
After vaccination, we came home. Everything seem to be normal since it was just a moment ago after vaccination, a few hours ago. As per normal, after vaccination, no bathing, and nothing was done to touch water there at the injection part also.
However, the next day and the next and the next. Day after day, I observe his changed of behaviour. His appetite changed, he is more quiet. Called up the vet, nothing seem to help. Followed the vet’s instruction, his appetite never improved.
I told my husband to bring him to the vet again. He said wait for the next day. I was so worried! The next day? Yes, the next day, the very next morning, we rush him to the vet. The vet was called upon and he rushed there too. However, everything was too late. On the way, he vomitted and brownish discharge was emitted from his anus uncontrollably. Our hands which was carrying him was stained and it was all smelly. That was not our concern. We want him to be well again. I was hoping I could get a cab as fast as possible.
Soon a cab came and we reached the vet hospital. The vet and his assistance had not arrived. We were so anxious and quite angry that he took such a long time. We called his name, we called out for Cebest, talked to him. There was no response at all. He was all jerking and gasping for air, struggling for every moment of his life. It hurts me. It is so painful in my heart to see him in this condition. It was barely 7am, early in the morning. By the time the vet came, it was almost 730am.
By the time he was pronounced dead, it was still before 8am. There was nothing much the vet and his assistance could do anything. His lungs were filled with water. Any adrenaline shot given was no use. The vet just arrived and for the next 10 minutes or so, Cebest was pronounced dead. The vet shaked his head.
It was lucky that my husband had his camera handphone at the moment. That is the last memory I will have of him. That is the last thing I can have of him. They are so precious to me now. Today I had written the importance of the heart at PeaceMotivate.com. I have used the heart as an icon for my PeaceMotivate.com blog, Health Motivator. I had written my reasons for using the heart as an icon at PeaceMotivate.
This just got to show the importance of the heart. Cebest was very strong and fit. I always lied on his back. I love to feel his warm. I can feel his heart beat and his pulse. However, I can no longer had this kind of comfort and relaxation moment now. I missed his heartbeat sound, his warmth, and his wet licking on me. I missed his bell sound. I miss everything about him, his unique smell that he had, his barking, his laughter, his anxious face and sad face, everything everything about him I miss.
The heart is just so important to life. When the heart stops, life stops. If time can reverse, I would still want him back. I want to have him with me. I want him to me my pet again, no other pet can replaced him. Even if it is just a dream, I would be happy to see him. He will forever be remembered and loved, my dear Cebest.

[...] It was a terrible night for me. I did not sleep well. I went to bed at around 1.45am. Was tired, but not able to sleep. I have not had insomnia for quite a while. But last night was really bad. I do not know if it has anything to do with what I had written last night. [...]

[...] Do you believe in ghost or spirits? Are there really such things exisiting in this world? These are things which we cannot see but they seem to exist. To scientist, they may think that we are hallucinating. To the psychiatrist, they might think we are having schizophrenia and we are just ‘imagining’ too many things. But how do you explain it when two persons hear the same thing and experience the same thing? I had seen my dog barking and looking at something which I cannot see about one week before his death. It happened in the study room. We were in the study room and all of a sudden he seemed to see something, we I cannot see. He was looking at something in the air, and barking furiously at it. As he was barking, he gave chase to the ‘invisible thing’ — chasing from the study room out of the room’s door and out of the house door. What is this ‘thing’ that he seem to see and almost a few days to a week after he saw this, he was ill, sick and die. He had no energy to bark any more when he was sick. [...]
