Complaints about Teacher

I wonder what is the purpose of having a student handbook. It was part of the ‘compulsory’ school’s booklist items to be purchased. However, I had not seen it put into good use. For four years, my son has been going to school and my daughter, two years there. I should say communication between teachers and parents are terrible! This is the worst year I have ever had. There was a change of principal last year. I personally feel that the previous principal was very good.
This year, I attempted to talk to my children’s teachers. None called me, despite writing letters, telling my children verbally to pass the message and also writing in the handbook — tried all methods and NONE was successful! Spoken to the vice principal through one occasion and yet, no improvement was ever changed for the better at all. And every day, my daughter came back with ambiguities — things which she had conveyed to me, which she said she was not sure — and yet nothing was written in the student handbook!!!
I am very infuriated by the attitude of this teacher already. I had not wished to mention the names. However, I find that she is very irresponsible at all. For not returning ANY of my call, I would have ‘tolerated’. However, she had asked the students to carry thick files to and fro the school. This is very unnecessary. A child who weighs 20kg needs to carry a bag which weighs almost 6-8kg! This seems exaggerating but it is a fact. I asked her not to bring, but she was scared teacher would scold her. She cried. I asked her teacher to call me again, but she never. Problems not settled at all.
Clara was absent from school for a few days. New chapters taught. She missed her class, missed her worksheets. I asked the teacher to pass the homework to her. She said “Nevermind, she will let her do those worksheets when she comes back to school.” (I did not know if the insurance claim is going to be successful. Yesterday, Clara told me that Ms Shervani asked about the MC, and asked about who the doctor was. Isn’t this ridiculous?? The Medical Certificate would have the name and address of the Doctor! The general office had taken the receipt so as to process the claim. And here she is, asking about the doctor’s name, and she did not call me again when I had written in the student handbook. She had asked Clara to convey the message to me! When I asked more, she did not know anything. Isn’t this infuriating when there is such thing as Student Handbook! This is the ultimate reason for blogging this post!)
I checked her files since she need to bring them everyday. She asked me to sign the papers. I was surprised to see that worksheets were not marked, the latest worksheets, she had got it all wrong. She said she did not understand and I asked why teacher never went through her mistakes or even told her to do corrections! NEVER! Those that she had done beside the cross were corrections which I had asked her to do and I taught her myself. What is this?? Terrible working attitude from this teacher, Ms Shervani of QiHua Primary School! I do not care much already. Clara told me that during her oral examinations, it was their form teacher, Ms Shervani who tested them. She told me that she had only said two lines of picture conversation and the teacher asked her to go back. This thing did not happen for her Chinese Teacher. Her Chinese Teacher allowed her to finish what she said. This is not fair at all when you have the own form teacher to be the examiner. In addition, who knows if she was being biased when it comes to Clara’s turn.
This is really a very terrible experience I have ever had with a teacher. For four years, I have never encounter any irresponsible teacher from QiHua Primary School. This is the first time I had encounter such ‘terrible attitude’ teachers, Ms Shervani. This year, my son’s teacher is also no good, but I had no other issues about her.
I am not a person who only see flaws. There are good teachers. I encountered good attitudes teachers. They were people like Mrs Goh and Ms Raja. I have not seen Mrs Goh in the school now. Ms Raja is still teaching in the school. I would say she is a good teacher, love by many students, responsible and care for her students. A teacher who care or do not care as much for her students, we can feel it and students will know too.
