Spider Veins
By peace | October 9, 2007

I used to ask my mother when I was a child, “What are these thick bluish and purplish veins on your legs? Why are they so thick?” My mother was concerned about her legs’ varicose veins. Hers was not as bad as one of her best friend at that time. Her friend was a hairdresser. Her occupation required her to stand a long time everyday. This resulted her in developing ugly varicose veins on her legs, so much thicker and more obvious than my mother.
It was until I was working in the hospital that I know these ‘thick veins’, purplish and bluish in colour, were called varicose veins. Some people called it spider veins. They are reddish, purplish or bluish veins that appear on the surface of thighs, calves and ankles. Most nurses have this problem due to prolong standing. Once developed, varicose veins are difficult to get rid of. My mother never seems to know what to do, nor bother to find any treatment to it.
However, today, I come across a medical center that offers surgery and treatment for varicose veins. I am surprised that varicose veins can be treated by laser surgery! Women want beautiful legs and skin. Varicose veins are indeed unsightly. If you need treatment for your varicose veins, cellulite and massive hair, you can seek laser therapy, laser hair removal and even microdermabrasion treatment. All these a Medical Spa in Phoenix that specializes in varicose vein laser therapy, cellulite reduction, laser hair removal, and microdermabrasion treatment!
