Prize Or Price of Success
By peace | November 18, 2007
Something about me
I am sick again, having sore throat, blocked nose and running nose. Ricsson has cough, blocked nose and sore throat. It is so terrible to have flu. The body is aching and we feel tired easily. What had I done or what were my thoughts? I had jotted them down at Peace Diary yesterday. Perhaps, you can read them.
Everything Top, Everything Best, Everything First
Living in Singapore is very stressful. Imagine those old times where our great parents used to stay in houses beside their farms. Those were more peaceful days. Today, more people are educated, more people are earning money and human’s greed has resulted in more changes now than ever. School system changed, everything undergo renovation and upgrading (when things are still in good condition — compared these things with other poor countries, they do not even have certain things that we have, but yet we are destroying things to build new things — too much money!) Well, if not how to be the first? Everything want to be the first when it is only such a small country. Can you imagine a dwarf telling people he has the first and the top beautiful legs after he had undergone plastic surgery? Well, there is no need to say more, we all understand. Something is bad for us, we cannot do it, but only certain people have the right to do it, for good or for bad — as long as they can earn money.
Do you want Prize or Price
What is their prize for success? Reputation, Richest man in Singapore, Prestige, Good Life, Free tour around the world etc etc. What is their price for success? That is not their concern. You want to say NO to casino? They already make up their mind. They only ACT to show that your voice are heard.
Base of Human Heart – Family
The newspaper wrote, someone commented that Singaporean are leading more solitary lifestyle, less social gathering, this is what I had seen around me — my brother-in-law(Richard’s brother). Being brothers, they never talk to each other. The brother will send him message when he needs to ask him something (once in a blue moon), other than that, no phone calls, nothing about their life were exchanged or chatted. Recently, they had given birth to a baby. Nothing was mentioned. Pregnant, married, new house, everything was told by the mother. No invitation, no celebration, nothing shared with people. Is this called family? I do not sense FAMILY in their ‘family’. It was cold and like ‘strangers’. It is totally different from my family. My family, though not the perfect family, but as compared to this one, I had learned that my family is a more fortunate one, something which my parents had tried their best to ensure family unity.

So what if you can climb to the top? Can you stay there forever?
Rope-climbing
Went to Riverside Secondary School’s open house. Clara was excited when he saw the exercise corner. It was drizzling but she did not want to miss out the chance. I had seen this during my Primary School, just beside my school. This was what the soldiers would practice. I do not know what this is called. I called it rope-climbing. I never climb this before.

Action Speaks Louder Than Words
The children tried. Children are always trying out new things. They love to try new things. They have a curious mind. Such are natural and normal children. As the children could not climb up, Richard said about his time in the army. He said how this rope-climbing should be done. Well, I said,”Since you know so well, show us.” I understand him very well now. All talk and no action. I will believe him if he showed us.
Are You Willing To Pay The Price For Success
What you think? I was the one who tried it first. I was the one who climbed up to the top, my first attempt. Never in my life had I learned it in school or tried it in anywhere. I visualize it and I did it. I did it my own way. Even if he said it was wrong way, I did not care. If he had done it the right way, why couldn’t him stay there longer than I did and if he had done it the right way, why was he injured?
Success Is Not Easy – More Than Just Talk and Thoughts
No one can stay on the top forever, everything that goes up must come down. It is just a matter of how long you stay up there. It is not easy to stay at the top. It is not impossible but possible if you are willing to pay a price. What are the price you are willing to pay? You want Prize you must pay a Price!

[...] I Choose Price Than Prize Maid or no maid? I choose no maid. I choose to look after the children myself. I choose to give up my job(s). I choose to do what I am doing now and who I want to be with. I have no regrets about everything and anything, not at all. I am living a life that everyday I am doing what I ought to do, my conscience is clear and I fulfilled all my obligations. That suffice and that is achieving peace of mind. [...]

[...] You Want Prize or You want Price. If you have both, if your life have money, woman, family, children, material possessions and health, I bow my head to you. You might be the special top few percent who have the same surname as my mother. You must be earning the most money in the world and have power. There is no winning of everything in this world. You win some, you lose some. What is the thing you want to win? What is the thing you are willing to lose? [...]
