Pass It On

By peace | December 8, 2007

This is a beautiful and meaningful song which I had learned when I was attending catechism class when I was young. The sister (she has a mole on her face, quite old, and seem strict) had taught us this song. We sang this song in the church one day, together with Amazing Grace, in the church of St Francis of Assisi.

Pass It On

CMTC-07-Pass it on

pass it on

Pass It On Song Lyrics

It only takes a spark to get a fire going.

And soon all those around, can warm up in glowing.

That’s how it is with God’s love,

Once you’ve experienced it, you spread His love to everyone;

You want to pass it on.

What a wondrous time is spring, when all the trees are budding;
The birds begin to sing, the flowers start their blooming.
That’s how it is with God’s love;
Once you’ve experienced it, you want to sing
“It’s fresh like spring”; you want to pass it on.

I wish for you my friend, this happiness that I’ve found.
You can depend on Him, it matters not where you’re bound.
I’ll shout it from the mountain top – PRAISE GOD
I want the world to know; the Lord of love has come to me,
I want to pass it on.

I’ll shout it from the mountain top – PRAISE GOD
I want the world to know; the Lord of love has come to me,
I want to pass it on.

    [...] My first song which I remember clearly, “Amazing Grace“, the sister wearing spectacle, really don’t know her name. She was very strict. But she is or she was I don’t know also, and I hope I can know her name now. She brought the class to the church, in the hall, in front of the cross, in the church benches we sat, and she taught us the song. I did not even know what is the meaning of the song, but it was a nice song. The same sister, taught us another song which I like, “Pass It On“. [...]

    [...] It Only Takes A Spark To Get The Fire Going Jesus saves me. Joseph helped, he is the protector of the church. Mary is the mother of God, loves her own son. She wants to save her son, just like I want to save my son and daughter, and the rest of my family. It is all a chain reaction. I experience it, and now I need to pass the light.
