Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet Comes To Live Part 1
Starting Point
I cannot stop reading. If I stop reading, my knowledge will freeze at a stagnant point. There are too many good books and too many things to learn and too many things for me to find out. I cannot finish all the books in this world. I am selective in the books that I read.
Borrowed This Book from the library
Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet
The first time I came to know about this great person, Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet, I fell in love with his quotes. That was since November 2006! One day, perhaps last week or so, I came across this book in the library. Wow, it was my favourite ancient poet plus philosopher plus artist, The Prophet, and yes it is Kahlil Gibran! I flipped through the pages of the book and there were interesting arts shown on some pages of the book. These must be what he drew (I am going to show you, but you must wait).
It was written behind the book,” The work of Kahlil Gibran, poet and philosopher, has been translated into more than twenty languages, and his drawings and paintings have been exhibited in the great capitals of the world.
The prophet is his most mystical and powerful work illustrated with his own drawings that are both enchanting and haunting.”
Thinking Back…
I had never suspected anything when I borrowed this book. I even brought the book out to read, on the MRT/train. But now when I think back, it must be this book. This is the most possible answer. This is what happened…
I had strange and scary dreams for two consecutive nights(Friday night and Saturday night). That was those days when this book was placed in my room, beside my bed, slightly near the floor. Too scary and nothing good which I do not hope to mention it. Let it be in my brain. It is no secret but too scared to write it down. Neither did I tell anybody.
On Sunday, we went to the church. At night, Clara had slight fever. The next morning, Monday morning, her temperature was 38.9 degree celsius. I asked her not to go to school. I gave her medicine and she went to sleep.
In the afternoon, I brought the book out to the living room. I placed it on Richard’s table. I taught Clara Science (diversity). After that she was tired and I went back to my room to do my work. In the evening, around 530pm, I saw her walking pass my room. Then I saw her ’strange’, her eyes seem to be staring at something. It was quite sometime. I saw that she was seem scared and I asked her what had happened. She told me she saw a black shadow. I did not say anything. Although I was scared too. But I do not know to believe or not to believe. There are sometimes when we seem to think that we have seen something when we just turn our head towards something.
But later on, after dinner, I asked her again. “What you saw just now?” I asked. Again, her answer was the same. “A black shadow, tall like Papa.” She said. Next I asked her more questions and her answers was very normal. She does not have schizophrenia nor depression. Neither does anybody in my family has. But I believe what she saw upon questioning her further. She even told me that the shadow was standing there, near the dining table for about 10seconds, which tallies with what I saw on her expression earlier on. But she could not tell how the black shadow disappear or whether the shadow had any legs. She said,”shadow only all black how to see the legs?” That is enough.
I had similar experience several years back. What she described sound logical and ’similar’ to what I saw. I believed her.
That night (Monday night), as soon as we finished dinner and finished our ‘discussion’ about the black shadow, Richard and I sprinkled Holy Water in the living room.
At night, I reminded the children again to pray before sleep. I always tell them to read the Bible or read books, but Clara was not interested in reading. That night, I saw her taking out her children bible. I told her to read one page at least every night. After that, pray and sleep. These, I believe, she did. Since she took out the children bible for the first time now.

[...] Say not, “I have found the truth,” but rather, “I have found a truth.” Say not, “I have found the path of the soul.” Say rather, “I have met the soul walking upon my path.” For the soul walks upon all paths. The soul walks not upon a line, neither does it grow like a reed. The soul unfolds itself, like a lotus of countless petals. ~Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet [...]
