Esprit Shirt

This is my new blouse, bought at Esprit, Causeway Point. I bought it on the day after church on 19th May 2008, Vesak Day. It was a day of ‘celebration‘ for me. I do not have a habit of shopping. I don’t like shopping. I only shop for what I need. And for so long, I did not buy any new clothes. Yet on that day, this Richard was so angry that Clara and I bought new clothes. It spoiled my day!
He bought his own clothes on this day too. And I just discovered that he bought a pair of bermuda pants, with the sickening words ‘Surfers Paradise‘ on it. I think he is still thinking of the beautiful memories, what the two adulterers pair had promised each other.
Anyway, I bought this red and white clothes, love at first sight. The material is very soft as well. I wore it on 24th May 2008, Saturday Mass at St Anthony Church. It was a kind of happy mood for me and I chose this blouse. I bought another blue coloured blouse that night and I wore it on 25th May 2008, attended mass again, the same mass, because I wanted my brother to attend church….. and also for the purpose of the procession.
On 24th May 2008, it was a real celebration, a celebration of Holy Communion, the Body of Christ, Corpus Christi. With new clothes, new life and a real significance of Holy Communion received that day. Father Vincent Chee wore his vestment with the image of bread (on the front) and that of fish on his back. Wearing the right clothing with the right kind colour to suit the special occasion and mood is thus important.

I never like red for many years. I used to wear red during those days where I worked in the hospital or during those days where I had known Richard. Red used to be a happy colour, a bright and conspicuous colour, which signify happiness and celebration. However, over the years, the kind of mood is lost. I began to dislike red and there is no mood for any celebration.
However, this Esprit blouse is my first red clothes I buy again. My red kind of mood is back. Red and white, the national flag of Singapore…. Red and white, the colour of cautious and conscience…..
