Carribean Queen (No More Love On The Run) (1984)

Billy Ocean - Caribbean Queen

Caribbean Queen Song Lyrics
She dashed by me in painted on jeans
And all heads turned cos’ she was the cream
In the blink of an eye I knew her number and her name
She said I was the tiger she wanted to tame

Caribbean Queen now we’re sharing the same dream
And our hearts they beat as one
No more love on the run

I lose my cool when she walks in the room
And I get so excited just from her perfume
Electric eyes you can’t ignore
And passion burns you like never before
I was in search of a good time just running my game
Love was the furthest from my mind

Caribbean Queen now we’re sharing the same dream
And our hearts they beat as one
No more love on the run

Caribbean Queen now we’re sharing the same dream
And our hearts they beat as one
No more love on the run

Caribbean Queen now we’re sharing the same dream
And our hearts they beat as one
No more love on the run

Caribbean Queen now we’re sharing the same dream
And our hearts they beat as one
No more love on the run

Billy Ocean - Caribbean Queen (Live)

This song is about a beautiful and exotic woman who seduces the singer. In both the UK and the US it was known as “Caribbean Queen (No More Love On The Run).” However the song’s title and lyrics were changed for different regions, so that on the continent of Europe it became “European Queen” and in Africa it was “African Queen.” This won the 1984 Grammy Award for Best Rhythm & Blues Vocal Performance. It gave Billy Ocean his first American #1, and also hit #1 on the Hot R&B Singles/Tracks and Club Play Billboard charts.
