Admiralty Secondary School
By peace | January 2, 2010
Photograph of Admiralty Secondary School taken while walking towards it.
The whole family took a bus to Admiralty Secondary School on the day where Ricsson need to report to his school. There is no direct bus to Admiralty Secondary School and we alight at the nearest bus stop and then walk some distance to the school. From afar, we could see from our eyes the image of a school (the photograph above). That must be the school we thought.

Indeed that is Admiralty Secondary School. We took bus service number 913 on that day. There are other bus services like 964 and 965 that we can take also. So going to the school is not really difficult, just that transportation would incur extra expenditure to the family.

This is the main entrance of the school. There are several gates which the students can use during schooling hours (about four or five). The first time we went to the school, we entered by gate D. The second time we went to the school again, we walked to the school and we entered the school from the main gate.

I really have no idea and know nothing of this school. Looking at this wall, and particularly the one below too, it really adds more meaning to the school.
Throughout my walk in the school, what I really like in this school is this two walls, particularly the one below here: the school values with the acronym LIGHTS representing Life-long learning, Integrity, Graciousness, High Expectations, Teamwork and Self-discipline.

Standing in front of this impressive wall, I was carrying Isaac, pacifying him and ‘entertaining him’ waiting for my son to get his textbooks. I looked around me and saw a projector above me. Nowadays schools are all so high tech, well-equipped with projectors, computers, overhead projectors and so on. At Qihua Primary School, all the classrooms have projectors and computers. During my school days, there were neither hd projectors nor any computer in our classrooms at all. During those days, computers can only be used in the lab and the overhead projector was shared among several classes. Over the years, the school has now become to be such a conducive environment for learning.
I love school, Singapore’s school.
