Oracles

By peace | May 10, 2010

Photograph of “The Throne of God” captured on 17 April 2010, 7.12am

Oracles were thought to be portals through which the gods spoke to man. What exactly are oracles? This is really such a new and foreign word. But I was ‘taught’ this word one day, on 24 April 2010. I searched for the meaning of the word ‘Oracle’ in the dictionary, but still was not so clear. I went to the library and borrowed a book by the title, Gods and Goddesses by John Malam. In this book, it describes Oracles as follows:

People believed the gods had messengers on Earth, called oracles. Through the oracles, it was possible to find out about the future. The most famous oracle was at the town of Delphi, where pilgrims visited the sanctuary of the god Apollo. Inside was a priestess who, so she claimed, could talk directly to the god. A pilgrim asked her a question, such as “Will it be safe for me to travel by sea? or Will the crops grow well in my fields? The priestess went into a trance and asked Apollo the pilgrim’s question. The god spoke through her in a strange language. An attendant understood the words of Apollo uttered by the priestess, and he explained the god’s answer to the pilgrim….

The Greeks thought that Delphi was the very centre of the world. Pilgrims left offerings to Apollo in shrines cut into the rock. Its famous fortune-telling oracle survived until the Christian era when it was closed down by the Romans in an attempt to ban the worship of pagan gods and goddesses.

There are so many ‘gods’ that people claim and ‘prayed’ to. They seek fortune-telling from these ‘gods’ through various means… Since young, I had questioned and had doubts about all these. Life is full of surprises, and I never thought that I would have experienced MIRACLES in life!

It was such a spectacular sight and such a wonderful experience to witness all these. I had described the details of ‘The Throne of God’ at JustSingapore.com. I did not wrote the full details yet. On that day, I had captured a photograph of the crow at the rooftop as shown below too.

I do not have any special cameras for birds. I only have Casio camera. This photograph above is the best that I can take with my Casio camera. From 7.12am to about 7.30 or 7.45am, it was all so amazing. All the birds were ‘performing’ and they were all ‘working’. There were lots of birds sound. The most surprising part was this one below:

Photograph of a fig tree with so many, so many crows on it, all seems to be rejoicing — 17 April 2010, 7.29am

All the crows/ravens flew onto this fig tree. They all crowed, so loudly, and all seem to be so happy and rejoicing!! Really REJOICING!! In this photograph, you cannot see the crows, but all the black coloured parts belongs to the crows. The whole fig trees are so full of crows… if only I have a bird camera

Never do I know that there are more surprises to come. On 24 April 2010, 6.58am, I saw strange sky. It was such a beautiful sky. I could not help, but stood at the window to see the ‘transition’ and ‘transformation’ of the clouds in the sky…

24 April 2010 6.58am The formation of the odyssey.

The word odyssey came to my mind as I see the image of the sky. Next, everything changes slowly in the sky. It was amazing. More details can be read at InspirationPeek.com, Odyssey. I had mentioned briefly about oracle, but not in details. Over here, I showed the photograph of “The oracle” below. It is a close-up view.

Notice the two black birds flying in the photograph. They are two black cranes. I can see the black cranes clearly with my eyes. However, through my camera, they appeared smaller. Using bird cameras, the cranes would look very nice. On another occasion, 5th May 2010, there was another even more miraculous sight or oracle that I witness (about Raffles) …. there were SEVEN cranes that flew past too. It was just so special, and if I can capture these seven cranes in flight, it would be marvellous.
