Resorts World Sentosa is an integrated resort on the island of Sentosa, off the southern coast of Singapore. The key attractions include one of Singapore’s two casinos, a Universal Studios theme park and Marine Life Park, which includes the world’s largest oceanarium. The S$6.59 billion (US$4.93 billion) resort is developed by Genting Singapore, listed on the SGX. It is one of the world’s most expensive casino properties, after Marina Bay Sands. The resort occupies over 49 hectares (121 acres) of land and, when fully open, will employ more than 10,000 people directly.
The soft launch of the first four hotels took place on 20 January 2010, with the FestiveWalk shopping mall following on 1 February. This is so ‘miraculous’, so unbelievable how the ‘wonders of the world’ can be. It is a great twist of history and a brand new discovery for me. Never had I known that “the goat” which I had always been ‘looking for’ in my family IS the FATHER of the person who is sleeping next to me all this year…my husband’s father, my FATHER-IN-LAW, and according to his son, his birthday is on Valentine’s Day, 14th February!!!
This is so funny… and our topic of ‘discussion’ was about his parents.
This is not a ‘KPO’ (kay poh = busybody) question which Richard would say to me if I ‘teach’ him ‘questions’ to ask… but he, who knows nothing about his background at all, said that he himself is a ‘typical Singaporean‘ who is “BOCHAP” (don’t care about anything). But this is about your origin, your family, where you come from, aren’t you have any interest at all about what kind of lifestyle and work your grandparents or even great grandparents do? I am curious to know of my own and I had known from my parents (as much as they know and shared with us), but I did not know anything about his family at all….
Aren’t You Concerned at ALL about Your Family if you do not even know anything about your own family?
If you are not sure about some relatives than it is alright, but to know about your own parents is something which is I think, every child should know (about basic facts or information of your parents, like their date of birth). But can you imagine, I had married Richard for so long, and I had always asked him about his parents…and his family… and from his mouth, he did not even know about his father’s Zodiac. First he told me that his father is “Monkey”, then sometimes “Horse” (when I asked on other occasion)… and as always, his answer is always NEVER TALLY, never CONSISTENT. So out of these many years that I had ‘known’ his family, I come to know of this ‘goat’ only on the fateful day…
Last night, I asked my father-in-law about what their parents’ occupation were when he was young. This is a question which I asked Richard also. He did not know what his grandfather’s occupation nor anything about his grandmother — not even name!!

Stumbled onto your blog through “complaints” about your children’s school. Your blog is indeed an eye-opener.
Your varied interests will be an asset to spearhead some initiatives to help your children’s school. With your active involvement, your children will feel that you have a vested interest in his developing years and strengthen your bond with them (not that they are not).
Just in case you are wondering, I am not in any way related to your children’s school.
